05 Jun 2021 2021 Lions Eye Bank of Texas Bowl-A-Thon Jun 05, 2021 12:30 PM - 6:00 PM 2021 Lions Eye Bank of Texas District 2-S2 Bowl-A-Thon will be held at AMF Diamond Lanes. Proceeds from the Bowl-A-Thon benefit the Lions Eye Bank of Texas, which exists to promote the work of the Lions Eye Bank of Texas at Baylor College of Medicine, and in particular, provide community education about the need for donation, vision safety, and prevention for the causes of preventable corneal blindness. The Lions Eye Bank of Texas services the entire Texas Gulf Coast and parts of East Texas. In 2020, the Eye Bank distributed over 1,300 donor corneas for transplant. Thanks to the Lions' contributions and funds from special fundraising events, the Eye Bank is able to continue its educational and community outreach programs along with providing corneas at no charge to indigent patients in need of a transplant.
