The Lions Eye Bank of Texas PDG Ronald Landers Memorial Bowl-A-Thon was held Saturday, June 5, 2021, at AMF Diamond Lanes in north Houston. Proceeds from this important fundraiser benefit the Lions Eye Bank of Texas.

The Lions Eye Bank of Texas joins two key resources for sight enhancement and improvement. Lions Clubs have demonstrated nearly a century of commitment to fighting for the correction and rehabilitation of sight-threatening conditions. The Department of Ophthalmology at Baylor Medicine provides the clinical resources of corneal specialists and others to assist in oversight, training, and quality management of eye banking and corneal transplants. These combined resources create one of the leading eye banks in the United States.

Under the clinical leadership of an executive medical committee composed of corneal surgeons, the Lions Eye Bank of Texas procures over 1,400 eye donations every year to meet the needs of surgeons along the Texas Gulf Coast. The Lions Eye Bank of Texas service area includes Beaumont, Port Arthur, Nacogdoches, Corpus Christi, Victoria, and the Rio Grande Valley.

The Lions Eye Bank of Texas at Baylor received the highest level of accreditation granted by the Eye Bank Association of America. The Lions Eye Bank also functions as a public education center for eyesight, eye disease, and eye donation.
Thanks to the Lions' contributions and funds from special events, such as the Bowl-A-Thon, the Lions Eye Bank is able to continue its educational and community outreach programs along with providing corneas at no charge to indigent patients in need of a transplant. Thanks to all of our Bowl-A-Thon sponsors, players, spectators, and the Trustees and volunteers working the event to make it a success. A big thanks to Ms. Darleane Warren of the
Lions Eye Bank of Texas for her coordination and organization over the past numerous months to make this event happen! A special thanks to Lion Al Gerhardt of the Tomball Lions Club for the photographs of our fundraiser.
