During Ron's career in the District 2S2 positions, he was involved in a lot of positions such as Texas Lions Camp, District Representative for 5 area Clubs in Tomball, Spring, and The Woodlands.  He was also very active in the Texas Lions Light House for the blind.

The Texas Lions Camp was Ron's most favorite group that he loved to support, culminating in the District Director at the Texas Lions Camp.   Ron's son Scott Chene, on behalf of the Ron Chene family, received the "Jack Weich Fellow" award which is the highest Texas Lions Camp honor.  It was presented by Trish Wilson of the Texas Lions Camp.  Jack Weich was the founder of the Texas Lions Camp.
