The Tomball Lions Club was at the Families Feeding Families event on November 21, 2018 performing vision screening for children. The Tomball Lions Club members doing the screening shown above are from left to right: Lions Karen Halbach, John Seber, Mike Halbach, Bubba Hardee and two volunteers.
This was the first year the Tomball Lions Club participated in this very worthwhile event and will plan on being a part of the event next year. Fifteen (15) children were tested with only one referral. All of the other children passed the vision screening.
On November 23, 2011, the first Families Feeding Families event took place at Christ Bridge Fellowship Church. Over 500 meals were served to those that attended. Meals were taken to local nursing homes and volunteers ate with the attendees.
This annual event for families in the Tomball area fed turkey dinners to approximately 1,500+ on site and another 400+ shut-ins and homeless. Hundreds of volunteers of all ages also came out for this event to help make it a special day. Attendees could also pick from numerous piles of donated clothes, obtain flu shots, haircuts, etc. For additional information contact Families Feeding Families www.familiesfeedingfamilies.com .
