The Tomball Lions Club presented the check of the $1250 allocation by the club to help the Tomball Families Feeding Families provide Thanksgiving meals to families that would not otherwise have a hot Thanksgiving meal in the Tomball Community. On November 23, 2022, the Families Feeding Families event will take place at Salem Lutheran Church Community Center at 22601 Lutheran Church Rd, Tomball, TX 77377. Over 5,000 meals are planned to be served to those that attended. Meals are also taken to local nursing homes. All volunteers eat with the attendees.
Families Feeding Families has become a holiday tradition for many families in our community, and continues to grow year after year. It is anticipated that also around 300 outbound meals for shut-ins and the homeless. Budget for this year’s event is over $50,000. The Tomball Lions Club is happy to partner with them in helping meeting the budget of this wonderful undertaking. Around 400 volunteers help make this a successful event.
In addition to the hot meals, they will offer free flu shots, free face painting for children and children activities. In addition, the Tomball Lions Club will be doing free vision screening. Spanish translation will be provided.
