The Tomball Lions Club provided vision screening for children at the 9th Annual Families Feeding Families Community Event at the Salem Lutheran Church Community Center on Wednesday November 27, 2019. The photo above is of the many families who came for the food and the vision screening.
This was the third year the Tomball Lions Club participated in this very worthwhile event and will plan on being a part of the event next year. A total of 43 children were screened with 8 of them being referred for further evaluation by an eye care professional. The Tomball Lions Club members doing the screening were Lions Karen Halbach, Mike Halbach, Erin Stapleton and the Lion Mascot and Tomball Depot Rusty Rails.
This annual event for families in the Tomball area feeds turkey dinners to approximately 1,500+ on site and another 400+ shut-ins and homeless. Hundreds of volunteers of all ages also came out for this event to help make it a special day. Attendees could also pick from numerous piles of donated clothes, obtain flu shots, haircuts, etc. For additional information contact Families Feeding Families www.familiesfeedingfamilies.com.
