The lions club was honored to have Eric Evans CEO of HCA Houston Healthcare, Tomball Texas as our guest speaker at our 4th Friday meeting in August 2019.  He was accompanied by Stacy Thornton and Sandi Bergholtz. We would especially like to thank the entire team for sharing the great story of HCA Houston Healthcare, Tomball Texas.

CEO Eric Evans gave a thorough presentation of the current ownership of the local hospital and some historical background. An informative presentation was made with Eric’s discussion and Power Point slides.  The organizational structure and Board of Directors was discussed. Eric emphasized the point that Patient care is paramount.  A few of the many highlights discussed were:
  • The Diamond Plus logo has the Patient in the center—committed to patient care;
  • The hospital has 992 employees;
  • HCA Healthcare has about 185 hospitals across the Country with about 16 in our region;
  • The Tomball location provides comprehensive care in all services except neuro-care at the present time;
  • The Tomball location has a Leapfrog A+ recognition; and has a Level III Trauma designation;
  • The Women’s Imaging Center has just opened which has top of the line equipment for more advance care and comfort;
  • The Tomball Hospital is partnering with schools (and any interested organizations) in Stop the Bleeding training;
  • The Tomball Hospital Health Academy will have a Men’s Health Prostate Screening (free) in September (I will confirm the date and send out an email reminder to all our members);
  • Crush the Crisis—on opioids and other narcotics in general, including coordinating with local Police for drug turn-in and disposal;
  • Help with TOMAGWA;
  • Suggested seeing the Hospital’s financial counselor for billing problems; but also receptive to contacting him.
