Special Gift Presentation to TOMAGWA

The TBLC Treasurer Al Gerhardt and Member Mike Halback made a special gift presentation of $1000 to TOMAGWA Executive Director Judy Deyo for their support of families in need. The Lions Club Mission statement is to empower volunteers to serve their communities and meet humanitarian needs. The Tomball Lions Club is a civic organization in the Tomball Community that helps meet the needs of families on a case by case basis. The club helps support the Tomball community by working with the City of Tomball and various groups such as TOMAGWA Health Care Ministries.

TOMAGWA is a Christian Ministry nonprofit, primary care clinic that, by the Grace of God and in response to the Love of Jesus, provides quality health care, offers hope and restores dignity to the uninsured, low-income families and individuals in the Tri-County region. The ministry provides a safety net for the working poor, providing quality health care for those who don't have medical insurance or make too much money to qualify for government assistance in its various forms. Also the ministry does not accept any government funding. They rely solely on community support from individuals, companies, and private foundations such as the Tomball Lions Club.

The Tomball Lions Club meets at noon at the Pecos Grilling Company restaurant on Highway 249 twice monthly. The club promotes pairing glasses with those who need help with their vision and sponsoring the participation of young physically-challenged campers for a week at the Lions' camp in Kerrville. In addition, the club supports families in need and groups such as TOMAGWA and TEAM in the Tomball community.
