The Tomball Lions Club presented the check of the $250 allocation by the club to help the Tomball Families Feeding Families provide Thanksgiving meals to families that would not otherwise have a hot Thanksgiving meal in the Tomball Community. On November 25, 2020, the first Families Feeding Families event took place at Christ Bridge Fellowship. Over 500 meals were served to those that attended. Meals were taken to local nursing homes and volunteers ate with the attendees.
Families Feeding Families has become a holiday tradition for many families in our community, and continues to grow year after year. It is anticipated that over 2,000 will be served this year plus around 300 outbound meals for shut-ins and the homeless. Budget for this year’s event is over $30,000. The Tomball Lions Club is happy to partner with them in helping meeting the budget of this wonderful undertaking.
Around 400 volunteers help make this a successful event. The Families Feeding Families event will take place on November 25 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 PM at Salem Lutheran Church Community Center, 22601 Lutheran Church Rd, Tomball, TX. Families Feeding Families will look different this year due to COVID 19 requirements and to keep our guest save, they will stay in their cars and will be able to interact with our nonprofit partners and get Thanksgiving meals to go.
