Timika Simmons is the CEO of TOMAGWA Health Ministries. Major items of Ms. Simmons’ discussion included:
- This organization provides community needs for the Tomball/Magnolia/Waller area.
- Healthcare/hope/dignity are provided by TOMAGWA to vulnerable citizens affected by poverty.
- TOMAGWA has a $4.7 million budget with zero government funding. Donations from organizations such as our Club and from individuals provide the funding. Various fundraising events and dinners are conducted by TOMAGWA to achieve their budget requirements.
- TOMAGWA has been in existence for 30 years.
- The Vision Center was set up by the help of Tomball Lions Club.
- A staff worker at TOMAGWA told her story about how TOMAGWA was there for her family when she was only a 10 year old.

Lion Al Gerhardt discussed that Timika Simmons is the CEO of TOMAGWA Health Ministries, who will be the speaker at the TOMAGWA dinner scheduled for Saturday night, July 27, 2019. Lion Al Gerhardt indicated that most of the invited guests were generous donors and this would be a good opportunity for the Tomball Lions Club to meet with them. Lion Al Gerhardt indicated he and Eva will be attending and that Lions Erin Stapleton and Reyna Sirias accompanied Lion Al and Eva Gerhardt to the event.
